The second annual TTSAO conference and tradeshow took place at the Centre for Safety and Heath Innovation in Mississaga from Feb 15th-16th. The Conference held a panel discussion regarding the new MELT (Mandatory Entry Level Training) Regulation coming into effect in July 2017. MELT will raise the standard of training for the Trucking industry, and schools that adhere to the regulation will acquire a level of professionalism the trucking industry was previously lacking. Further to the conversation of professionalism in trucking and respect for the truck driving industry, another panel was held to discuss the image of trucking, and how to market truck driving as a trade, and a viable career option of choice and not last resort. Through networking, conference discussions and the tradeshow, our team members Paula Gray, Cole Fernie and Martin de Repentigny, were able to catch up with the truck training industry and share in the enthusiasm for what is looking to be an optimistic future for the industry.
