MTO approval means the school follows Ontario’s approved curriculum and operating standards. It can also mean students receive recognized driver education that supports licensing progress and may help with insurance eligibility.

Question 16

What makes a driving school properly approved in Ontario?

Accepted Answer

Approved schools must meet requirements related to curriculum, instructors, vehicles, office operations, and advertising. These standards help ensure students receive consistent, professional training.

Question 17

What is corporate driver training?

Accepted Answer

Corporate driver training is professional instruction designed for businesses that rely on employees to drive as part of their work. At DriveWise, the focus is on improving safety, reducing risk, and helping your team operate company vehicles with greater confidence and consistency.

Question 18

Who is this training for?

Accepted Answer

This training is for organizations of all sizes that have employees who drive for work. It is ideal for fleet drivers, sales staff, delivery teams, field technicians, managers, and any employee who operates a vehicle on behalf of the company.

Question 19

Do you train employees at our location or yours?

Accepted Answer

We can train employees at your location, at one of our locations, or through a flexible remote format depending on the program. On-site training is often the most convenient option for businesses because it reduces disruption and keeps the training aligned with your work environment.

Question 20

What types of vehicles do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We can support training for a wide range of vehicles, including passenger vehicles, SUVs, vans, light trucks, and other work-related vehicles. Programs can also be adapted to the specific vehicle types your team uses most often.

Question 21

Can you customize training for our fleet or industry?

Yes. DriveWise can tailor training to your fleet, company policies, and the risks associated with your industry. That means we can focus on the driving conditions, vehicle use patterns, and job demands that matter most to your business.

Question 22

Do you offer driver assessments or evaluations?

Accepted Answer

Yes, driver assessments and evaluations can be included as part of a corporate program. These assessments help identify habits, strengths, and areas for improvement so training can be more targeted and effective.

Question 23

Can you train new hires or high-risk drivers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Corporate training can be used for new employee onboarding, as well as for drivers who need additional coaching due to incidents, complaints, or higher-risk driving behaviors. It is also useful for refresher training and return-to-work situations.

Question 24

Do you provide defensive driving or distracted driving training?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Defensive driving and distracted driving awareness are common parts of corporate driver education. These topics help employees recognize hazards earlier, make better decisions, and stay focused behind the wheel.

Question 25

How long is the training program?

Accepted Answer

Program length depends on your goals, group size, and the level of customization required. Some sessions are shorter awareness-based programs, while others are more comprehensive and include assessment, coaching, and follow-up.

Question 26

Question 27

How many employees can attend?

Accepted Answer

Group size can vary based on the delivery format and the type of training you choose. We can accommodate small teams, department-based groups, or larger corporate sessions with advance planning.

Question 28

Will this help reduce accidents, insurance costs, or downtime?

Accepted Answer

Corporate driver training is designed to improve driving habits and reduce preventable incidents. Over time, better training can support fewer collisions, less vehicle downtime, and potentially lower risk-related costs for your organization.

Question 29

How do you tailor the course to our company’s risks and vehicle types?

Accepted Answer

We start by understanding how your team drives, what vehicles they use, and where your biggest risks are. From there, we build the course around your real-world driving environment so the training is practical, relevant, and easier to apply on the job.

Question 30

Can the program be used for onboarding or refresher training?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many companies use corporate driver training as part of onboarding for new hires, annual refresher training, or periodic re-training for employees who drive regularly. It is also a good fit for seasonal staff and employees returning to driving duties.

Question 31

Do you provide policy support or reports after training?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can provide feedback and reporting depending on the program structure. That may include assessment results, training summaries, and support materials that help reinforce your company’s driver safety expectations.

Question 32

Can training be done at our site to reduce disruption?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On-site training is often the preferred option for businesses because it saves travel time and makes scheduling easier for staff. It also allows the training to reflect the actual vehicles, routes, and operational realities your employees face.

Question 33

What makes your program different from standard driving lessons?

Accepted Answer

Corporate driver training is not the same as basic licensing instruction. DriveWise focuses on safety, risk reduction, and operational performance, with training designed specifically for employees who drive as part of their job.
